Parkdale-High Park

My name is Zork Hun, I am your candidate in Parkdale-High Park representing the Libertarian Party of Ontario.

I was born and raised in communist Hungary. I came to Canada when I was 27 years old. Quand je suis arrive, j’habitais á Montreal.  J’ai démenagé á Toronto en 1981 where I have lived ever since. I moved to Parkdale-High Park in 1993. I am married and have two grown children from a previous marriage.  I work for a large IT outsourcing company with a small group managing mail servers for about sixty thousand users.

For a very long time I did not know that I was a libertarian. When I came to Canada I was simply an anti-communist. I left Hungary because I could not stand watching how the state wasted people and resources alike. The world we live in here is beginning to have an eerie resemblance to the one I escaped from. This realization turned me into a libertarian.

I am a libertarian because I consider libertarianism the only consistently moral, sensible and practical political philosophy.
I am a libertarian because I believe that individual freedom and responsibility are the most important prerequisites of a good society.
I am a libertarian because I abhor oppression, violence and coercion.
I am a libertarian because I believe in the amazing power of the market to create prosperity.
I am a libertarian because I respect people and I dislike the patronizing, condescending policies of the major parties. 

 I decided to get involved in politics at an election when I realized that I cannot even make a compromise with a good conscience, when I was so disgusted with all available options that I could not make a choice. Since I had no option to reject them all, I had no choice but to spoil my ballot. I left the polling station with a resolution to get involved.

I am running in this election to stand up for what I believe in.
I am running because I want to stop us in this apparently unstoppable march on the road to serfdom.
I am running because I want to use this opportunity to warn everybody about the dangers of socialism.
I am running because I am alarmed by the constant growth of government, the ever increasing taxation, the gradual loss of individual freedom.
I am running to speak the voice of reason with passion.
