John Kittredge is Libertarian Candidate in St. Paul’s
John Kittredge, our candidate in St. Pauls in the 2007 Ontario Election and the 2008 federal election, ran again in the September 17, 2010 by-election to replace the infamous Michael Bryant. With the help of over a dozen volunteers he was able to distribute over 4,000 pamphlets. John attended two All Candidate Meetings and presented the Libertarian message on CFRB. John came in fifth in a field of ten candidates, receiving a larger percentage of the vote than in previous campaigns. Thanks to John and all his volunteers for a great job! Next time he plans to make greater use of Facebook and the Internet.
Originally from Montreal and modestly bilingual, John is 64 and has lived in Toronto with his family for 28 years. Educated at McGill and Western, he is President of a small management consulting firm focusing on business performance improvement and has worked with clients throughout North America, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. John is also an active, internationally competitive, track and field athlete having recently represented Canada in Lahti, Finland in the World Masters Athletics Championships. With this background, John knows that, in both business and sport, performance excellence is required for success. However, as he says, “In my experience, regrettably, government has little interest in either ‘performance’ or in ‘excellence.’
“Talking to voters in St. Paul’s I sense a significant, growing and festering dissatisfaction with government. They share a great concern about what is going to happen to the province down the line when the unanticipated effects of today’s big business and big union give-aways, knee-jerk spending initiatives and tax opportunism kick in.
“I am running to make my constituents aware that less government is a real and practical option. It’s an option that’s not even on the radar for most Canadians and it needs to be added to the debate.
“I am running in the faint hope of limiting government and leaving Ontario a better pace for all our grandchildren.”
The Ontario Libertarian Party will fight corporate handouts, the harmonized sales tax, unfocused spending initiatives, land transfer taxes and the relentless ballooning of the Queen’s Park bureaucracy. Government is the problem, not the solution.
