Press Release

It is with great sadness that I’m informing our members and friends of the passing of Bob Mackie of Beamsville Ontario, our candidate in the Niagara West-Glanbrook riding.

Bob served as a governor with the Ontario Landowners Association and was the President of the Niagara Landowners Association. He was a long time advocate of property rights, particularly after his personal battle with the Ministry of Natural Resources over his property on the Niagara Escarpment in 2006.

It was just three weeks ago that Jim McIntosh and I first had the pleasure of meeting Bob at Mackie's Mountain Archery “Meet & Greet Open House” in Beamsville, his place of business.

Bob was determined to make a difference for the people of the Niagara Region and the rest of Ontario, and I hope we can honour his memory by using his life as an inspiration to continue the fight for individual liberty and property rights.

On behalf of the Ontario Libertarian Party I offer my heartfelt condolences to Bob’s family and friends.

Allen Small,
Leader, Ontario Libertarian Party
